For a while now it’s been apparent that Andre Gomes will never be a starter at Barcelona.

The former Valencia midfielder has often been singled out for criticism at the Camp Nou. I short, many have concluded he’s not up to standard for the Catalans.

Gomes makes up the numbers in Barcelona, while he’s been linked with a possible Premier League switch for some time.

Tottenham have often been name-dropped as a possible suitor. Yet, according to Paris United this weekend, it’s Arsenal who are now at the front of the Andre Gomes queue.

Paris United, the well-known French ITKs, have announced that Arsenal are in talks with Andre Gomes about a move.

It’s further stated that Barcelona have no intention of holding onto Gomes.

Sport claimed that either Arsenal or Juventus could sign Gomes this summer. Sport reported the following:

Andre Gomes is close to confirming his exit from Barcelona FC. So much so that the Portuguese midfielder won’t travel with his current teammates on their North America tour.

At the moment, there are two clubs who appear to tick all the boxes: Arsenal and Juventus. They still need to agree on a fee though, with Barcelona valuing him at €20m.

Some Arsenal fans may roll their eyes at the Andre Gomes update.

The Gunners have significant midfield options already.
