Maurizio Sarri speaks out over Chelsea futures of Eden Hazard, Willian and Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri this afternoon briefly discussed the speculation surrounding the futures of some of the Blues’ stars.

Italian tactician Sarri was appointed as the man to replace Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge two weeks ago, following the stellar job done by the 59-year-old in Serie A with Napoli.

However, despite the new season being just a matters of weeks away, Sarri is, as things stand, complete unaware of the personnel he will be able to call on for Chelsea’s first outing of the 2018/19 campaign versus Huddersfield on the 11th of August.

This is due to the major question marks hanging over the futures of the likes of Willian, Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois.

Brazilian attacker Willian is reportedly being heavily courted by La Liga giants Barcelona, with Chelsea said to have already knocked back several big-money bids from the Blaugrana for the 29-year-old.

Both Hazard and Courtois, meanwhile, are long-term targets of Real Madrid, with speculation having ramped up over the last couple of weeks that the latter is on the verge of a move to the Bernabeu, while the former is viewed as one of a number of potential replacements for Cristiano Ronaldo.

As such, following Chelsea’s first fixture of the Sarri era, a friendly clash with Perth Glory earlier today, the Italian was unsurprisingly questioned on the futures of the trio of aforementioned stars, during his post-match press conference.

And the former Empoli boss was characteristically to the point with his response, revealing that, although the decision is not solely down to him, he remains ‘confident’ in the Blues’ chances of convincing their star players to stay put:
